Some Other 1920s Photos at the Old Brick House And ?

Grandma Koftan (Fern) in her usual apron carrying what I don't know--eggs?--with what looks like the storm cellar in the right background.  Aprons were very handy for her as impromptu satchels for apples, eggs, potatoes, cucumbers, and the like.

Velma and Snowball.

Grandpa Koftan (Laurence) in his usual overalls, hamming it up, someone in the car, near a white wooden building with the typical false front, so not the Old Brick House.  Through the back windows seems to be a high hill, which would put the location in Center (?), or is it a reflection?

Probably the sternest photo ever of Grandma Koftan (Fern).  I might add, when she had her lips drawn in that thin hard line (also true of the other Peters), we needed to stay out of her way or prepare for either scolding or accusatory silence, although she may simply be too serious here.  I always read in the picture she apparently didn't want it taken or was resigned to it.

Audree & Larry Koftan at the Old Brick House

Scan10199.JPGI'm actually starting with a photo of Fern Koftan with her children, Velma, and in the wagon Audree and Larry, because the photo was marked "1926 or '27," another copy dated 1927, and should help with dating the other photos in this entry.  Another photo taken obviously at the same time is this, with Velma kneeling behind her sister and brother:  It was processed "15 Dec 25," at odds with the other two dates and wrong, because Velma was born in 1915, Audria/Audree in 1922, and Larry in 1926.

The photo below, with Audree holding Larry, identifies the two dogs as Snowball under the wagon and Teddy leaving at the right.

Two smaller ones of Larry obviously a year or two later:Scan10193.JPG
